Haein is a Mudang apprentice of the Woncho lineage. They are affectionately known as “The Baby Mudang”.
Mudang is a title given to initiated shaman-priests indigenous to the Korean peninsula. Mudang lineages have survived thousands of years in unbroken lines of tradition that have branched out to Korean diaspora populations like the Woncho lineage based in the U.S.
Mu traditions are syncretic, absorbing and adapting different religious and spiritual traditions throughout our history, and into the present.
Some of the tutelary gods that The Baby Mudang serves are Guan Shi Yin, Celestial Child War God, Child War God of the East Sea, St. Michael the Archangel, Triple Goddess of the Sun Moon & Stars, Child God of Endemics, and Daegam the God of Prosperity.
Founded in 2023, the Shrine of 1,000 Helping Hands is currently located on Kizh land aka the Los Angeles area, and is where the many gods of The Baby Mudang’s pantheon reside.
Services are provided remotely, as well as, in-person when possible. Though The Baby Mudang is an exorcism specialist, they are also training in the diverse array of prayers and rituals mudang can provide their communities, which includes, divination, spiritual consultations, blessings and protection rituals, Samjae Puri, ancestral blockage clearing rituals, and more.
In our traditions, every prayer, ritual and spiritual plan is custom for each client and situation. This is the thoughtful and meticulous care that one can receive and benefit from when requesting aid from The Baby Mudang and their gods.
The Shrine of 1,000 Helping Hands will be moving to Dakota land in 2026, and we are very much look forward to connecting with the land, spirits and people there.
